Football fields, or pitches, are rectangular playing surfaces used for the sport of football (soccer). The long length of the field must be between 295’-394’ | 90-120 m, while the shorter width is between 148’-295’ | 45-90 m. Goals are located on each opposing goal line and are 24’ | 7.32 m wide.
Soccer Field Dimensions (Adult) Soccer pitches are rectangular in size and the surface is made out of grass or artificial astroturf. FIFA states that the two touchlines forming the length of the pitch must be between 90 and 120 metres in length (100 - 130 yards). The two goal lines (where the goals are placed) form the width of the pitch and should be between 45 and 90 metres in length (50 - 100 yards).
The dimensions of a full-size football pitch for 9-a-side soccer is 80 yards long (73.1 metres) by 50 yards wide (45.72 metres). The centre circle has a radius of 7 yards (6.4 metres) from the centre mark. Additionally, each side of the pitch must have a penalty spot 9 yards (8.2m) away from the goal line.
For international matches the pitch must fall in a more specific range, though there is still wiggle room. International Soccer Field Dimensions Length (touch line) Minimum: 110 yards (100 meters)
As per standard pitch measurements, the penalty spot is 11 m (12 yards) from the center of the goal. The penalty arc is 9.15 m (10 yards) from the penalty spot. The goal area is 5.5 x 11 m, and goal kicks by the defending team are taken from this area. Overall, the penalty area is 16.5 m (18 yards) in length and 40.3 m (44 yards) in length.
Soccer Field Pitch Dimensions and Size. The Standard soccer field measurements are shown below. Not all fields (pitches) are the same size, though the preferred size for many professional teams’ stadiums is 105 by 68 meters (115 yd × 74 yd) with an area of 7,140 square meters (1.76 acres).
The distance between the inside of the posts is 7.32m (8yards) and the distance from the lower edge of the crossbar to the ground is 2.44m (8ft). The goalposts and the crossbar must be white and have the same width and depth, which must not exceed 12cm (5ins).
The pitch is rectangular in shape. The longer sides are called touchlines, and the shorter sides are called the goal lines.
