More Texas Holdem Starting Hands. Example:6♠ 9♦, 2♣ 7♣, K♥ 10♦. Simply put, every other hand you can be dealt is going to lose you money. As a beginner or even intermediate player, hands that may look great - such as an off-suit Q-J or J-10 - are simply going to lose you money in the long run.
All Texas Hold’em poker hands begin with two players posting the “small blind” and “big blind”, which are mandatory bets that rotate around the table after each hand. The “dealer button” is always immediately counterclockwise to the small blind.

Nick Koudis / Photodisc / Getty Images. A pair of aces, also known as "pocket rockets" (and sometimes "American Airlines") is the best starting hand for Texas Hold 'em. Be wary of how many other players enter the pot, as more players increase the likelihood of someone beating your aces. Watch the flop.
Best Starting Hands. Having a strong starting hand can help you determine your chances of winning even before the flop is dealt. In general, you're a strong contender if your starting hand contains: Ace/Ace: the strongest starting hand in the game. King/king, queen/queen, jack/jack: high pairs set you off well.
One of the first books I read about Texas holdem was co-written by Phil Hellmuth, and it was titled Play Poker Like the Pros. He has a top 10 starting hands list that consists of any pair of 7s or higher, along with ace-king and ace-queen.
Dominating Poker Hands. A texas hold'em hand is dominated if it has 3 or fewer outs against a hand it faces, like AQ against AK. In this example only a Q can help AQ, an A will not. A hand like AK is a 3 to 1 favorite over hands it dominates like AQ, AJ, A9, KQ, KT, etc. (again, AK vs. 32 is only a 2 to1 favorite).
Low Connectors. Hands like 4-5, 6-7 and 3-4 are hands to fold in poker. I make a distinction from suited as they play much better. The offsuit low connectors are unlikely to help your ROI. You may have seen some professionals call raises on High Stakes Poker with these hands.
With the other problems that ace jack have this makes it a questionable hand from early position. In no limit play you need to be especially careful with this hand. In limit Texas holdem it’s easier to play profitably because your maximum loss is limited when you hit a hand that doesn’t end up being the best hand.
